Configuring and locating network devices is hard. This project proposes using physical tokens to create a virtual connection between devices. They can then be reconfigured in the same way wired devices would be. I like this concept because it provides a simple way to associate physical things with virtual resources, and it provides a very understandable security model. It also means that there are physical things involved, with all the disadvantages that has. Another complaint is that for added security, the cards should perform the crypto operations and not provide the keys. Presented as part of the CHI 2004 Fringe. [web site] [paper]
